Obama's Approval Ratings High in Most Muslim Nations
By Jacqueline L. Salmon
President Barack Obama is markedly more popular than President George W. Bush in predominately Muslim nations, according to a survey released today on global attitudes toward the United States.
The survey yields few surprises, although Obama's low popularity in Pakistan probably comes as a disappointment to the Obama administration, which has been pressing the Pakistani government and military to better guard the Afghan-Pakistan border so extremists cannot escape the Afghan war by slipping into Pakistan.
The news is better in other countries. While only four in 10 Egyptians have confidence in Obama's foreign affairs leadership, that is a sharp increase from the one in 10 who expressed confidence in the Bush Administration a year ago. The change is even more dramatic in Turkey, where a median 33 percent support Obama's leadership, compared to 2 percent for Bush.
The survey was conducted by the Pew Research Center's Global Attitudes Project, which conducted nearly 27,000 interviews among 24 nations and the Palestinian territories and explored a wide range of topics, included attitudes toward Obama, the worldwide recession, Islamic extremism and swine flu.
One country where Obama is highly popular is Indonesia, the nation with the largest Muslim population and where Obama spent part of his childhood. Three of four Indonesians voiced confidence in the president, compared to one in four for Bush. In Kenya, where his father was born, Obama is almost universally popular - 94 percent.
Obama's lowest ratings are in Pakistan and the Palestinian territories. Just 13 percent of Pakistanis have confidence in him, while 51 percent see him negatively. One-third offer no opinion. Three out of four Palestinians have a negative opinion of Obama, while only 23 percent see him positively.
Israel is the only country in which public opinion of Obama is virtually unchanged from that of Bush. Just over half--56 percent--of Israelis are confident that Obama will do the right thing in international affairs, virtually unchanged from Bush. Obama is popular among that Obama is popular among Israel's Muslim community - 68 percent compared to 31 percent for Bush.

This does not surprise me. I would encourage him to seek office in one of those countries where he is most appreciated.
This would be in our best interests as he is running this country into the proverbial ground.

That explains where these polls are coming from who even remotely approve of Obama.

What a crock of bull.... Domestically Obama's ratings are going down as often as he appoints a new Czar to his cabinet... Will somebody tell Obama, this is not Russia... America has more Czars then Russia... It is evident that Obama wants America to operate as a country in dispair. Obama will not be happy until America is a 'Third World Nation.' His deficit spending proves that point...
Can we all say "Welcome Back Jimmy Carter." Lets save the world, with American tax dollars".
I'm glad to see that the other countries approval ratings for Obama are improving. Maybe Obama should rule their nations.
"Obama For Socialist Dictar in 2012". Obama's theme will be: "Change America, into the Ground"

Different duck. Same quack. People are lame brained. Don't worry what they think, they do so little of it.
