Muslim Activist Lobbies Obama

Farhana Khera, executive director of Muslim Advocates, a San Francisco-based national legal advocacy group, made the most of her brief time with the president during the iftar, the dinner that breaks the daily fast of the Ramadan, at the White House on Tuesday night.
As the president strolled the State Dining Room, greeting guests as they finished up their meals, he approached Khera. She didn't waste a second. Khera thanked the President for his commitment to ease hurdles to charitable giving facing American Muslims, but urged him to do more to address the challenges facing American Muslims, particularly ending racial and religious profiling.
Muslim Advocates has been working on this issue for a while. It has protested to the Administration and to the Department of Justice about FBI infiltration of mosques and the FBI's use of what they call "agent provocateurs" to entrap worshipers, including youths. And it has protested what it sees as targeting of Muslim Americans at borders, where they are asked about which mosques they attend and how many times they pray.
"It was kind of a quick chat" with the president, said Khera. Obama thanked her for her comments and moved on. But Khera said she is hopeful that it will raise the profile of the issue in the Obama administration.

I hope for my family and children and grandchildren's sake, Mr. Obama listens to Ms. Khera and end racial and religious profiling of Arabs and Muslims at US airports, courts, and even in our mosques. We are not a fifth column...and I don't pay exorbitant federal and state taxes only to have my money used against me to profile, spy, and detain my fellow American Muslims in my own institutions and country?
The time has come to end secret evidence, rendition, torture, spying against religious institutions such as mosques (which has yet to produce a credible secret anti-American plot in over 7+ years of monitoring) and invading fellow Muslim nations.
You were elected to end the deceitful and un-Constitutional Bush's policies, Mr. Obama, not to continue it. So show the hallmark of leadership and end it, sir.
