Pro-life pumpkins?

By Jacqueline L. Salmon

Instead of carving your traditional grinning jack-o-lantern, the anti-abortion American Life League has another idea: carve a pro-life pumpkin.

"Whatever your skill level, be creative and tell the world about the personhood of preborn babies!" the group says on its Web site.

It doesn't have to be elaborate, the group says. It can simply be the words "pro life." But the ALI helpfully includes a stencil of a design--the profile of what appears to be a fetus sucking its thumb in a womb--that you can download and duplicate.

Photos of the finished designed can be emailed to prolifepumpkin@all.org and will be posted on the ALI's Web site.
