It is obvious that the courts (in the US) weren’t aware or don’t care that the people of this country have decided to retake control of the government from the elite who believe that there will trumps that of “We the People”. The first step has been taken by the overwhelming victory and the redirection of the Federal House of Representatives the next steps are the Senate and the White House followed by the removal of “Activist Judges” from all federal, state and local benches.

There is no question that “Sharia Law” has no place in the judiciary nor jurors prudence of our country therefore it is a mute point to discuss its merits or lack there of. But just to be through, safe and direct I believe that laws similar to that of Oklahoma’s should be adopted in ever single State and at the National level. Let it not be said that the people, government and courts of this land did not make themselves crystal clear in the idea that “Sharia Law” is not nor will not be accepted (EVER) as the law in or of the United States of America.

I see no issue here. It should not matter where you came from; you are to assimilate to our society and he laws of the land. No religion is curtailed by our Constitution. Religious freedom is granted every citizen and immigrant alike. Whenever a religeous practice violates one of our laws it can't be ignored because it is a practice in the individual's homeland and religeon. The immigrant gave up his home to become an American citizen. That means he will obey the laws and edicts of America. That is his duty as a new citizen of OUR country. Why would you come here and expexct to live your old life unchanged? I object to people who came here to raise their country's flag , refuse to learn English and accept our ways. There are no Afro Americans. You can't be both. Your are either an American of African decsnt or you are indeed an African. You may have come from Humgary,but when you became a citizen of The U.S.A., you are an American of hungarian origin. The law should be interpreted the same way. It matters not what the laws and religeon of your abandoned country, you are American NOW. WE will allow you to live in your fashion and practice your religion as lomg as it does not violate the lawsand statutes of our land. I am insulted by this Judge or any judge that does not prefer our law as the only one law of the land. She should be removed from her position and not allowed to ever again serve in that capacity! She is a disgrace to the legal system an an insult to the American way of life.

The Chapter of Deuteronomy Chapter 28 goes over the Blessing and Curses. The first part of this Chapter goes over the Blessings and then from about vs. 15 to verse 68--it goes over the curses.

America was blessed by God and came under the Covenant of Blessing with God--but there is a condition to this Nation God blesses that does His will--they must not go aside from the words that he has commanded to the right hand or the left to go after other gods (sharia law-muslim cult)to serve them. That is in verse 14.

I want to point out a few significant verses in Deuteronmy 28:

Verse 15:

But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:

The LORD shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them: and shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.

Because thou servedst not the LORD thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things;

verse 48

Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the LORD shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things; and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.

The LORD shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand;

A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor show favor to the young:

I once lived next door to a middle-eastern family. The father patrolled his home at night and in the early hours of the morning--wearing military clothing--and carrying a big gun. His children once ran to our house at night--as they were terrifyed of their father! The wife of the family later was upset that her children had done that--because it made it harder on her--who had often been beat with a kitchen broom!

Another time, i was trimming a middle-eastern lady's hair. Her ear was completely burned off her. Her husband who was a wealthy middle eastern man had done that to her. She had escaped from him and was in hiding!

I'm no constitutional lawyer, but try this argument on for size ACLJ: Sharia Law is unconstitutional as Sharia Law is inseparable from the Muslim religion and, as such, for any U.S. government to recognize Sharia law would be tantamount to the establishment of religion by the government. And that, my friends, is unconstitutional.

The answer is simple: If that Islam law comes to full force in America, then our states will divide themselves and our country will recreate itself as one or more different countries as to purge our land away from that Islam law.

I cannot imagine living under Sharia law, not as a citizen of America, and not as a woman. To be subdued to such an extreme extent in a marriage under Sharia law is something that I feel most American women cannot fully accept, nor comprehend, perhaps because here we have more rights than probably anywhere in the world. For those not familiar with this movie, maybe some would find it enlightening: "Not Without My Daughter" starring Sally Field and Alfred Molina. This film was based on the true life story of Betty Mahmoody, an American citizen who fell in love with a doctor from Iran who came to live and work in America, "Moody" Mahmoody. Once they became a family, Moody persuaded his wife to leave America, and take their daughter to Iran to stay with his family, supposedly temporarily. Once there, and among his own family, his personality changed, and Betty realized that the content life she knew in America was over. Her independent, thoughtful personality became subdued, and she was forced to take on a new persona, dressing and thinking differently, in order to become accepted, and to survive in Iran. Moody told her she could return home after her father died, but that she was to liquidate assets there and return to Iran. Frightened, unable to relinquesh who she really was for the image of the perfect Islam wife, she took their daughter without her husband's permission, risked her life, and was led to safety outside of Iranian borders with their daughter, by concerned Iranian citizens who had secretly befriended her. Had she divorced her husband, by law he would then rightfully have custody of their daughter Mahtob. Not everyone agreed with Betty's actions, nor with the content of this film, including film critics~ American and Iranian, who felt quite strongly about the film, saying that it was unfair to Muslims, painting a prejudiced picture of them as collectively forceful and violent. Yet those Iranians who came to Betty's aid were gentle and caring, non-violent, peaceful, concerned Iranian citizens. One person in movie reviews and related postings claimed that Moody used Sharia law as an excuse to become increasingly abusive with his wife. It certainly makes one think of this American woman's ordeal, and how falling in love with and marrying a man of another faith radically changed her entire life. Once she escaped Iran, and returned home to America, with their daughter, she began to help other women who found themselves feeling trapped, overwhelmed, and terrified, in similar situations. This is the female perspective of an American woman; her Iranian husband no doubt saw things very differently, according to the rights he felt entitled to under Sharia law, and the Islamic faith. Perhaps these two worlds should not collide.. perhaps this cannot be done successfully. A few such unions might have a more positive outcome, but mixing two opposing faiths is a very serious matter.

Irregardless, mixing Sharia law is prohibitive.

I agree with 99% of the above posts. The American citizen has been asleep for some time.. It is time to wake up and start paying attention to what is going on. If we do not start speaking up for our freedoms, we will have none left to speak of.
Islam has been quick to speak out against injustices that they feel they have suffered on our soil, what about the injustices that we have suffered? Please people remember 911, the OK bombings,these injustices that have been brought upon us by the very people us as a nation is bending over backwards to keep happy.
At what point was it that their religious freedoms became more important than mine. Why is it that they can meet for prayer in capitol hill weekly, but in order for my children to pray in school, to God the almighty, I must send them to private christian school. At what point did the American people loose their voice, when is it that we became complacent, and unaware of what is going on in this nation. I must also ask, at what point people are we going to wake up and see the enemy at our back door, waiting to harm you and your family as you sit back, idle and unaware, or choosing to not care.
Bottom line, this is an injustice and if we allow injustices to continue, turning a blind eye, we deserve what we have coming to us.
I pray for mercy on this nation. Because quite frankly, if we don't start doing something, if we don't start putting God back into our country, into our policies, and start electing leaders who fear God almighty, mercy is going to be stretch. God will turn his back on us, just as we as a nation have turned our backs on him.

Jesus, I ask you to please come in my heart and save me, heal me and deliver me and fill me with your precious Holy Spirit! Thank you Lord. I believe I'm saved, and going to heaven. I believe that all the angels in Heaven are rejoicing because of my decision to give you my life. And my name is written in the Lambs Book of Life!! AMERICA NEEDS TO WAKE UP!!!

I remember that in grade school, growing up in America, I was taught this declaration: (Do you remember this)?

I pledge allegience to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, ONE NATION UNDER GOD, indivisable, with liberty and justice for all!

This Liberty and Justice for all--is not for those who want to abolish the Godly Principles that made this Nation Great in the First Place.

Why was America Blessed by God?

Because we had Godly men who in the beginning of our Nation....established the governing of it--by Godly Principles. So many of our laws were based on the laws and commands that God told Moses---to teach his children---and their children---etc. From one generation to the next...and that God would Bless that Nation who would do His will. America adhered to this Commandment--that Results in God Blessing it! It can be found in Deuteronomy Chapter 28.

The First Part of this Chapter goes over the Blessings that God will give. America has been Blessed by God and God alone!!!

But in this same Chapter--it talks about the curses that will come on the Nation whom God has blessed--if they turn from God and worship idols.

America---God has blessed us! No one else! And God is Good. He has feelings similar to how we feel. We will hurt his feelings when we turn our back on Him and go after other gods to serve them. And then He has sworn that the curses will come.

People in the Government should be sued for trying to enforce laws--like the Sharia law--in our Christian Nation. Why, because all Americans will be effected and cursed by ungodly laws being made.

Let us look at Deuteronomy 28:1-2
Blessings:

And it shall come to pass, "if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God "will" set thee on high above ALL NATIONS of the earth: And all these blessings shall come on thee, and "overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.

Read the Blessings: Holy Bible Deuteronomy 28 1-13 And see if America fits that description of a Nation being blessed by God.

Then the curses.

What substantiates the curses?

An Al Qaeda leader, the head of a designated terror organization and a confessed jihadist-in-training are among a "Who's Who" of controversial figures who have participated in weekly prayer sessions on Capitol Hill since the 2001 terror attacks, an investigation by FoxNews.com reveals.

The Congressional Muslim Staff Association (CMSA) has held weekly Friday Jummah prayers for more than a decade, and guest preachers are often invited to lead the service. The group held prayers informally for about eight years before gaining official status in 2006 under the sponsorship of Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., one of two Muslims currently serving in Congress. The second Muslim congressman, Rep. Andre Carson, D-Ind., joined as co-sponsor after he was elected in 2008.

Among those who FoxNews.com determined have attended the prayer services during the Clinton, George W. Bush and Obama administrations are:

Anwar al-Awlaki, the notorious Al Qaeda cleric believed to be hiding in Yemen and the lone American on the U.S. governments capture or kill list, who conducted a prayer service on Capitol Hill shortly after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

Randall Ismail Royer, a former communications associate for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), who confessed in 2004 to receiving jihadist training in Pakistan. He is serving a 20-year prison term.

What are the steps to take to unseat an acting judge that refuses to take into account our founding documents and principles, such as 'THE CONSENT OF THE GOVERNED'? This is an insult to the will of the people who definitely know better than this erring judge.

How can any Judge even consider putting an injunction against a law which affirms the supremacy of the American Constitution in American courtrooms? How could that in the wildest imaginings suppress anything contained in the first amendment? Shariah is political, not religious in nature. If stopping Shariah is stopping Islam (the argument of CAIR), then Islam must not be a religion per se. Freedom of religion is only guaranteed by the First Amendment for real religions not political systems. CAIR has inadvertently revealed the connection of Shariah to Islam. Political Islam is deeply integrated into a belief system that poses as- merely a religion. Muslims presently are free to practice what they call a religion any way they wish as long as it does not violate American law. However, they have no Constitutional right to demand that Shariah not be prohibited from replacing our Constitution. The Oklahoma law is a pre-emptive move to prevent an oppressive political system from making inroads upon our legal system as is presently being attempted across our great land. Hopefully, the Judge in this case has enough wisdom to see that an injunction as a prelude to a declaration of the law being unconstitutional is wrong headed. On the other hand if the Judge turns out to be wrong headed on this matter, I hope she finds herself removed as a judge in the not too distant future. CAIR of course will continue to fight and will continue to damage political Islam by revealing more and more truth. Sedition will not be tolerated in this country whether by violence or by stealth.

Like so many of these comments I am amazed we are even having this discussion. I have been worried for quite some time about Sharia Law. I guess the only thing that will wake this nation up is when they see a woman put in the ground to her waist and stoned to death for something her husband can say she did, true or not!!! We are way out of control with political correctness.

I agree with so many, how come the peoples voice when they vote can be overturned by a few liberal judges. If these judges don't like the laws the majority choose let them go to Iran or Cuba or some other country where the people are ruled by a dictator.

God help us; the United States of American was founded on Christian principles and for this reason and this reason alone became a great nation. We have had the protectoin of the Almighty. If we do not get Godly principles back, the Hand of the Lord will be completely removed and our great country will then be destined to FAIL.

why bother to vote in this nation, if the judicial system has no respect for our beliefs or opinions. and if we can impeach the president of our nation, why cant we impeach this judges!

We need desperetely to return to the core beliefs of our founing fathers and act on them. We need to pray for our country daily that it would do our Heavenly Father's will for the country He helped to establish and is helping to maintain.

It is amazing that in America we are even discussing this!! Foreign law of any kind shouldn't be considered in a Sovereign Nation! This judge, along with a lot of others who legislate from the bench, need to be recalled. THE PEOPLE have spoken and NO judge should be able to overrule US! The same is true for the voters of California and other places where the people vote in a clear majority (prop 8 to protect marriage), judges should have NO right to overturn the will of the people! We need to educate ourselves and speak out against this blatant disregard of the people of the USA!

Where's all the progressive outrage against Sharia? Why aren't they shouting for the separation of religion and state? They didn't hesitate to show their outrage when courts were weighing the issues of Morman laws on bigamy. So where's their voice when it's regarding Sharia's laws allowing husbands to rape their wives? Where's their anger calling for the rights of all women, regardless of religion? Interesting that when it's an Islamic issue, there's an eerie silence from the left.

You know what else we should ban? Samurai swords in classrooms, bears with guns and spaceships on highways. Better safe than sorry.

I have read a lot of comments on how bad sharia law is for our Nation. What are you DOING to keep sharia law out of your community? I have found out this week three things, 1. people do not know what sharia law is, 2. people think it is a religion and 3. people will not sign a petition to keep sharia law out of their community. People in general are ignorant of sharia law. My brother who is a college prof., ask me, what is sharia law? Please get out there and talk about sharia law to everyone. I started at my church. Will you do something or just talk.

America is a melting pot of ideas and agreements all drawn together by setting certain precedents. American jurisprudence demands the use of precedents. Setting legal precedents establishes a course; a reason to persist in an argument until due recognition of that precedent by states senators and congressmen is made; which then forces a vote and the precedent becomes law or not. Since laws, both state and federal, are characterized by the use of such legal precedents and enacted by legal representation on behalf of all Americans it cannot be misinterpreted to mean that sharia law is more or less "law" than the precedent that establishes it as law. The question then is "who" will recognize the establishing of sharia law in a legal system of governance that does not condone the establishment or effective use of any international law by and through the U.S. Constitution and the Ten Commandments on which all American law rests? America is, in fact, a Christian nation founded on the principles of the Ten Commandments and by that precedent alone American jurisprudence stands or falls! And finally lets not forget nineteen Muslims who subscribe to Sharia law attacked and murdered thousands of fellow Americans just a short time ago in downtown New York city! That legal precedent stands all by itself!

Although Sharia Law may work for some people who choose to live under it, our government works only if we (the People) choose the way we are governed. I think it is ridiculous that a judge would ignore 70% of the people in this case. I may choose to live under the "Golden Rule" (which has religious underpinnings) but would never think of imposing it blindly on my neighbors!

Please keep on keeping us informed. Sharia law must never be a part of American life. Activist judges are killing our country and should be removed.

First of all, there is no place for the insinuation and intrusion of international law here in the US, PERIOD!!!

Secondly, Shariah law must never be allowed here to avoid a legal schizophrenia to develop. Under current US law the Prophet Mohammed would not only be a polygamist with his many wives, but indeed a pedophile having "married" a six year old girl and then sexually consummating the union with her when she was nine years old. For instance, California and 29 other states have the "Unborn Victims Violence Act" which safeguard's personhood of the unborn. The Senate moved50-49) to make it a separate crime to harm a fetus during commission of a federal crime. As Scott Peterson was found guilty for the murder of his wife, Laci, and unborn son, Conner. President Bush signatured and made a statement "strongly supporting unborn children" The law gives personhood to the unborn child, which would be Conner, two count's of murder against Scott Peterson. I honestly don't understand how the Obama Administration has been able to bypass "rule of law" as the battle to keep abortion "on demand" entitlement's out of government healthcare as well as doctor's and nurses conscience clause right's must stay intact. I am afraid that if we set back and let this continue without taking some kind of positive action; there will be a lot of worse things shoved down our collective throats in the future. People who think Sharia law is going to take the place of American law don't know anything about the Constitution or Sharia law.

As Jordan rightly points out, the okla amendment also forbids the consideration of international law in Oklahoma courts. What...?? Oklahoma can't "opt out" of international law. The constitution states that we're bound by any treaties to which the US is a party. (that includes Oklahoma).

Also, its forbidden within the Muslim faith to impose Sharia law on non-muslims. Unlike Christianity, which is a religion that requires that we "spread the word," Muslims have no such duty to spread Islam and are in fact forbidden from attempting to impose tenants of Islam on non-muslims.

All of this is just insane. Sharia law in America is a non-issue, played up by sensationalist news/entertainment corporations that purport to be serious news outlets. This proposed amendment means as much an amendment banning cats in Congress. Of course the idea of stoning, and veiled women in the USA sounds horrible. Luckily, these things can't happen because we have a constitutional democracy, which allows people to VOTE before laws are changed. Unless Americans decide Sharia law is the way to go, I think we're safe.

If we cannot accept religion as a foundation for law, then from where do our laws derive? To reject Islam fairly, we would also have to reject all other religions/beliefs. Unfortunately for the secularists, all moral/ethical/legal statements of ought & ought-not are faith-based beliefs. You cannot prove right from wrong with science; there is no such thing as "secular law." This is one more blatent example of a very serious problem with the functioning of our current democratic government. As several commentators have correctly stated, the only function of judges and the courts is to enforce the law which includes interpreting existing laws. The courts now feel they have the authority to MAKE LAWS and throw out laws passed by an overwhelming majority of voters. Our democracy "of the people, for the people, and BY THE PEOPLE" has been twisted into "of, for, and by THE FEW IN POWER". Our judges and courts,federal, state and local, have way too much power which they use to enforce their own agendas, all too often against the will of the people.

As an Oklahoman that voted yes to ban Sharia law, I am disgusted that our court system has taken it upon themselves to decide that what the overwhelming majority of people in this state wanted doesn't matter!? If there was flaw with the state question then why were we even allowed to vote on the question? I feel that my rights as a life-long resident of Oklahoma have been tossed out the door because some religious group decided that they were offended after the law passed. Judges that are making these unscruplous ruling needs to be "outsted" "booted" because they - when sworn in stated "To up hold the Constitution and the laws of this nation" Where is Sharia Law coming from? The idea of a law that would incite public uprising, necessitating the invocation of martial law, is desirable to our current president. It would allow him to remain in power, without needing to worry about proving his legitimacy or leadership. It would allow him to remain at the helm without having to continue "living up" to the people's expectations.

But that's neither here nor there. The immediate danger this law poses is a far more serious thing than Obama's legal status, and thus the reason I believe this to be worth focusing on.

I am an American Citizen and also a Christian, knowing Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior! In defense of the Shaira Ban, I am for it 100%. If these people do not like our laws here in the United States of America, they can go back home where they belong. If people from other coutries come to our country, they should abided by our laws or else go back home. If I might add, this seems very fishy on first glance -- I notice on BBC website, that certain folks are trying to push their views on through advertising money, articles about Canadian polygamy and such. Maybe the same folks trying to pressure Clinton appointed staff in desperate attempt to look sincere regarding muslim cultural agenda. I know that Clinton was under some unusual pressure in his neighborhood over past months, and it seems to be the same people -- a very aggressive minority of folks that like to create the most drama, with least effort. This judge may be under some pressure as well, so sympathies if that is why they would rule in such an un-American way in being so narrow. A more democratic option is for parties to choose Arbitration, and as an arbitration option if both parties agree to submit. That seems more in line, that's just one opinion and a more moderate option to consider.

I truly believe that our governmental leaders have lost sight of, or really never saw, where our foundation as a nation came from. They do not have any concern for the true foundations and core beliefs of the people who settled here on our shores to form and establish a new land for the people and by the people.
They need to look back to November 1620 when a ship travelled across the Atlantic during the early winter stormy season to escape the controlled society they lived in and wanted the freedoms to live together as peoples with a common bond under our Lord Jesus Christ.
They need to read the Mayflower Compact, an agreement to establish a new government from within themselves, and it was written by those that would be governed. This was the first attempt to develop a society that would govern itself and those who lived under that idea would agree and adhere to the basic tenants and moral structure and Christian values and beliefs that were the true rule and guide of those settlers

Islamic Sharia Law need to be banned from use in the free world, including USA and Canada.

We don't need people looking at someone the wrong way and husbands feeling they have the right to cut off their hands, or to stone their wives to death in the street because they said something the husband did not like.

Maybe transporting these people who want Islamic Sharia Law, back to their own countries is the best way to deal with this. These people are defiant, dangerous, do not beleive in the God of Christianity, many would kill you in the blink of an eye for no other reason then the colour of your eyes. We must fight agaist the inclusion of this crazy Islamic Sharia Law. The people who want it need to go to therapy and find out why their minds are so screwed up. NO ISLAMIC SHARIA lAW IN THE FREE WORLD. This would be given this group of people a free right to kill whoever they want too. Government get a grip, say NO....................

As Jay writes, Oklahoma's anti-Sharia law passes the Supreme Court's Lemon test. There must be a broader solution to Islamization where they take over cities and nations like they are doing in France and by proxy in our airports.

It would be in the nation's security interest to begin programs to convert American citizens and visitors on work or school visas to the Founder's Christianity or a better state of the art belief such as portrayed in the radio and TV archives at SidRoth.org which features Christian miracles, or an even better state of the art which focusses on Jesus only.

This conversion effort should go around the world, again as a national security measure, to convert Moslem nations to Christian nations thus refocussing them on loving God and neighbor instead of killing infidels (including each other). Imagine a surge with teams of 3 troops, two for preaching the gospel and one for protection, dispatched to Afghanistan and Iraq. Eventually our Generals could figure out how to convert the nations, give Afghanistan an economy not based on heroin, and make friends instead of enemies, eventually fulfilling the Great Commission that the Gospel must be preached to all nations before the end will come.

Somehow we have gotten confused by how we operate as a sovereign nation. Why are we even considering the ideas proposed by foreign law? And why does a single individual in judicial position have the ability to dominate over the voice of the majority of the people? It seems to me that some basic changes are in order with regards to how the will of the majority is safeguarded. Somehow, judges have weaseled their way into an area of authority that was never intended by our Founding Fathers, and that certainly is adding to the confusion and turmoil we face as a democratic and free society.

The muslims in America have one goal, to change this country into a muslim country. They are using our laws of religious freedom to advance their agenda. The courts aren't there to make law or pick and choose which law they are to follow, they are there to interpret the state and federal laws set before them.

Sharia Law is an abomination, and should never be allowed to be practiced in this Nation. I'ts totally not in line with our Constitution. Why is it that female judges seem to be more liberal in their interpretation of our Constitution? It was a female judge in Phoenix who rule against Arizona's Illegal Immigration Law 1070. Seems odd to me that female judges see our laws differently than male judges. They seem to try to make laws rather than interpret the Constitution. Maybe they should have run for some State or National office??

This country was founded on Christian principles and laws that govern our people. I absolutely refuse to bow my knee to their god, prophet or law...period. The "tolerance" being spewed by left wing idealists will lead to this type of thinking ie; allowing sharia law in our land.
I respect all peoples but when you migrate to our country you automatically submit yourself to our laws. Just as I would be subject to the laws of countries I may be in. Its that simple.
