The Morality of Abortion
There can be nothing moral about abortion but there are times in one's life when one is called upon to make a choice that may go against the ethics of society. Abortion is one of those issues. I believe it is strictly the choice of the woman concerned and it is not society's business to dictate morality and ethics to individuals. I for one do not want a President or a Vice President to tell me how to lead my life and preach morality to the nation. They are elected to the office to run the country not to preach morality. A Supreme Court that is dominated by men has no business poking its nose in the affairs of women. Let there be a referendum and let women decide what is good for them.

Haven't you forgotten the father? Where is the morality in saying that the father has no role in making the decision but that IF the pregnant woman decides not to have the abortion then he is financially responsible? Doesn't he have any reproductive rights? How are you going to have a society with fathers committed to their children if you do not respect the fathers?
Even if you keep the government out of it, there is more than one party involved, as Mahatma Gandhi could have pointed out to you.

Mr. Arun Gandhi,
It is not the morality or immorality of abortion. It is a personal choice, a necessary choice, a conscious choice for women who made the choice to have an abortion.
Abortion is a matter of personal conscience too, whether one can live with it or otherwise after making the choice. It clearly an ethical choice, a moral choice in cases of rape and incest for some societies. There is absolutely nothing moral or ethical about those who commit rape and incest upon women and girls who may have to make a choice to have an abortion.
Yes, it is strictly the choice of the woman concerned and it is not society's business to dictate morality and ethics to individuals, especially women who has to resort to abortion.
And yes, any courts dominated by men has no business poking its nose in the affairs of women who has to make the necessary hard choices on this. Let the courts concentrate on meting out justice for rapists and those who committed i incests.

What is wrong with you? You clearly have not thought this through completely. Society does dictate morality and ethics to us EVERYDAY. Are you blind? Unbelievable! What if I want to murder my two 1 year old son? It's my home and my children! Who is society to "dictate morality and ethics" to me as an individual?

Most, in fact all, men were foetuses at one time.
So it makes perfect sense for men to care abour foetuses. Men have just as much right to care about foetuses as Jews these days have to care about the Jews who lived in Nazi Germany.
Women have rights and a stake in reproduction, but they should stop pretending that all that matters is what women want.
