Take the Vow of Non-Violence
For five years, the Alliance for a New Humanity had an annual forum entitled the Human Forum. People gathered from over 100 countries to express their love in action. One of our advisers said eloquently a few years ago that love without action is irrelevant and action without love is meaningless.
During our annual forum we connect people who have compassion in their hearts, and a creative impulse to solve the problems of global warming, radical poverty, social injustice, and war and terrorism. On November 7, 2008, at 9:45 am, the 500 people attending the Alliance for a New Humanity Human Forum in Barcelona took a vow for non-violence in their thoughts, speech and actions. Each person decided to ask other people in their lives to join them in taking the vow. The goal then became to create a global movement, which would mobilize 100 million people to make the same commitment. We, at the Alliance for a New Humanity believe that if a critical mass of people commit to this vow, the world would be transformed.
The music video, The Vow, is a celebration to this commitment. We ask you join us in this global movement, and take the vow.

These are all dramas to grid one's own axe.
Why not a vows by the governments?
Vows of neuclear disarnament instead of forging treaties.
Vow to do justice to the people where ever they live not just in the west or in north america.
Hypocricy and double-standards must go. can you meet to vow for such things.

Interfaithnation and ccnl seem to be threatened by nonviolence. Does that mean their belief system gives primacy to violence? Violence and religion, violence and god, violence and spirituality are hard to justify. But this is not new.

Paganplace, Paganplace, Paganplace,
Make sure you never visit Iran. Their violent attitude towards infidels like yourself would not be good for your overall health.

Mr. Chopra,
Non-violence is hard to understand in the West without the complete context of dharma.
Now, your message is only reaching the same audience in the West with less effectiveness. Your new audience in India is waiting for you. You need to stop being ashamed of or hiding the source of these ideas.
Hinduism needs some reform, so LEAD the reform (love without action is irrelevent, action with shame(without love) is meaningless). Hinduism always allows new and improved ways of seeing the same eternal ideas (Vedanta).
A billion Hindus need you more than the few million PBS watchers. Hindus are in desperate need of pride and confidence that has been beaten down. Continue the journey that reformers like Swami Vivekananda began. The East and the West will benefit.
Thank you for all the hard work over the years.

You're... kind of missing the point of a vow of nonviolence, there, CCNL. I, for one, support and applaud those who choose to take it.

I'm... A little surprised, Clearthinking, that this of all topics was basically ignored, except by the usual trolls.
Too challenging, perhaps.
