MTV's technological child abuse
The tragedy is that millions of young children are having their minds warped and corrupted by images and themes they'll remember for the rest of their lives. Images and themes that scintillate and nefariously seduce. Images and themes they're entirely unqualified and unprepared to handle or process

Americans afraid marriage is changing
Those who say marriage is becoming obsolete might be voicing a fear, not expressing a wish.

Thanks be to Our Gracious God
This year, I continue to be thankful for a gracious God who doesn't give me everything I might want, but always gives everything (and more) that I need. I thank God each day for the companionship of my best friend and the strongest woman I know in this world, my wife, Jean.

Voting an American right, a Christian responsibility
Voting is our right as Americans, but it's also our responsibility as followers of Christ. The Bible, after all, calls us to be salt and light to the world. Making informed decisions at the ballot box rooted in our morals and values is a critical opportunity to act on that exhortation, one way we "season" and "brighten" the society we live in.

One father too many
Obama has marred an otherwise noble initiative designed to raise awareness of and offer solutions to father absence with a political tip of the cap to advocates of homosexual parenting.

A day of prayer for judicial common sense
Even an enthusiastic atheist would have a difficult time explaining how merely recognizing the first Thursday in May as a "Day of Prayer" (without any denominational attribution or financial support) is akin to establishing a national religion.

Social justice about increasing righteousness in culture
Accurately defined, Christians believe wholeheartedly in "social justice." Sadly, the term has been hijacked by some as a means of calling for government-induced income redistribution and the parceling out of "rights" as politicians deem appropriate.

No fear, no tears, no pain
I believe what I believe about heaven not only because of what I've read in the Old and New Testaments, but because I have met the one man who has been there and back -- my Lord and my Savior, Jesus Christ.

Tebow/Super Bowl ad is pro, not anti
There's nothing political or divisive about Focus on the Family's Super Bowl ad featuring Tim Tebow and his mom. It's just a brief and inspiring story about celebrating family and life. What's wrong with that?

Ads can't change real meaning of Christmas
As for the American Humanist Association's "Godless Holiday Campaign," this promotional effort strikes me as a bit superfluous. Do people in America really need any encouragement to believe that they can celebrate without God?

People of faith are citizens, too
Of course the Catholic bishops have both a right and a duty to raise moral concerns, on any issue in their sphere. They have a right because they are citizens. They have a duty because they are stewards of a great moral tradition in our country.

God fuels the goodness of us all -- even unbelievers
The Bible says that God is good. Based on these unqualified assertions, we'd have to conclude that there is no good apart from God. So, it reasonably follows, people cannot be good without Him.

God Expects Us to Be Civil to Each Other
Have we become so consumed with the idea of winning a political battle that we've lost sight of basic virtues of our faith like The Golden Rule? I certainly hope not. God expects - He demands -- more of us than that.

Teach the Importance of Christianity to America
It isn't even a question of "teaching religion" in public schools. It's a matter of staying true to the facts of history.

We're All Created in God's Image, But Ordination Not a Right
It's interesting that the question of homosexual ordination in the church has been framed here in terms of the Image of God in Man. According to Genesis 1:27, we all bear the stamp of that Image: the good and the...

A Sacred Institution Government Must Protect
