The Incarnation Makes Christians Earth-Protectors
Yes indeed, care for the environment should be a major priority for people of faith. For Christians there can be little choice.
We believe that God became united with creation in a special way through the birth of Jesus: the wonder of God’s love that we call the Incarnation. Through this singular act, God demonstrated the divine love for all that is. For those of us who have committed ourselves to being followers of Jesus, the message could not be more clear. The created order matters; it is of incalculable value, because it is of God and is loved by God. We are, therefore, called to live in harmony with that created order because it is of God no less that we are of God.
To treat creation as an expendable resource meant solely for our own use without a thought for the larger good or the unfolding future is, at least to be thoughtless and is I believe, sinful.
To persist in the misuse of our resources and to ignore determinedly the evidence of the dangers of global warming is to do damage to the future of the human community. As its most benign, this failure is evidence of profound ignorance. At its worst, it is evidence of intense greed - a greed so boundless that it is prepared to risk the future of vast numbers of the human family ( to say nothing of all the rest of plant and animal life) to further enrich the powerful few.

What a pile of crap. Integration with all life on the planet, the sun, the moon and the stars, predates christianity by a hundred thousand years. No religion in history has done more harm to the planet and brought more murder to the orginal peoples of the earth than your religion. I include all the (600,000) dead Iraqis in the last four years.
You have no idea how your cheap propaganda offends thinking people.
Thank you.

Dear Right Rev. Sisk,
I agree totally. I just feel compelled to stress that I was made, not born. In times of physical and emotional stress I prayed and cried out to God to use me. I professed that all I have was God's to use as God saw fit. I have done this since being in an orphanage, and God has tested me. Sometimes I have passed, other times I have failed miserably, but at all times God's Love was always clear to me. Although my quest did not start in the Episcopal Church, it most certainly did grow well there. Thank you. Thank you Thank you! May God Bless you and yours as God has Blessed us through your love and efforts times 7 and distributed to meet all needs and all prudent wants. Amen.

There is NOT evidence to state that global warming is caused by humans or industrialized nations. Period.

Dear Bishop Sisk,
You are very kind for I believe what you describe is Arc Angel Lucifer's plan to take over. Only the strong shall survive, and they can only get their strength from Satanic Markets. Of course, Satan only has the powers vested in *him* by fools. Lucifer is very strong these days. imho. Take good care of yourself as well as your flocks. God Bless you Bishop as God has Blessed your Lambs with you and your life's work. amen.

If you care to answer a question, please explain whether you believe the Bible that the earth was covered in rain water after 40 days per the Noah's Ark event.
If so, how do you extrapolate from that event any Christian imperative to protect the environment?
Thanks.

Hmmm... why should there be anything special about Christians in terms of having an obligation to the environment?
I thought the Native Americans had first dibs. Or is that an urban myth?
See The President's Secret Message On Global Warming at http://breakfastwithbwana.blogspot.com including a sign from God.

JD:
BGONE is simply crying for attention. Nobody, for the most part, pays any attention to his repetitive drivel. I'm assuming you don't have children because you would have learned by now that you can't engage in dialogue with adolescents.
If you keep your focus on discussions with posters who offer some value and relevance, you'll find it more enjoyable.

JD, BOB, whoever you are, Devil's agent, the Bible that you so prize and use for everything in your life is a hoax. Only dumbasses uses a hoax for a source of guidance. Now who's the dumbass again? You, dumbass.
http://www.hoax-buster.org/sellyoursoul is the proper interpretation of the Bible. The multitudes of dumbasses that listen to Bible thumpers is due for a thinning out.

Reverend Sisk, I don't doubt a word you say, however. What is your source of knowledge of God's love? If it's the Bible then you're skating on thin ice. The Bible is a proved hoax. We're not likely to solve global problems using a hoax as our guide or listening to those who slop at the trough of religion.
I'm sure you already know, http://www.hoax-buster.org just in case. You need a new source of absolute truths and quickly before the hoax finishes off the people of earth.
By the way, why do absolute truths require faith to be believed? Could that be because they're just not so? Time to clean up the old evangelical act.
