God's 'love language'
Author Anne Rice said last week that she was 'quitting Christianity:' The once-lapsed Catholic wrote that she was could no longer accept her religion's teachings on homosexuality, feminism, politics and birth control.
"In the name of Christ, I quit Christianity and being Christian," Rice announced on her facebook page.
Can you leave religion and keep Christ? Can you be spiritual without being religious?
Spirituality without God is nothing but cleverly disguised humanism. God without religion is trying to love God and ignore His love language. His love language is loving people, and choosing to stay connected to them in a common practices of faith, hope, love, and community.

Whoah! As a fellow Canadian, its obvious Matt is being disengenuous. There is no need to 'cleverly disguise Humanism'. Humanism is a philosophy of life built on faith in human beings, hope, love, charity, and community - and human rights and social justice. Sounds like the Jesus guy to me - minus the mystical magical mystery tour. Also sounds like Canada - equal rights, universal health care, tolerance, respect, community service and hope. (except for Harper, of course). The world needs MORE Humanism, and less intolerant xenophobic brutal racist sexist abusive religionism.

Speaking of "love language":
It's absolutely possible to "speak" God's language without actually meaning it. Sadly, it's done every day.
I'll take a loving, engaged humanist over a spiritually-vacant zealot any day.
