Does Christine O'Donnell have a prayer?
Christine O'Donnell, who announced that "God is the reason I am running," said on the Christian Broadcasting Network that "prayer is what's gotten us all through."
The Delaware Senate Republican candidate said that the day some people had a prayer meeting for her was the day they saw a spike in the polls. "so I believe that prayer plays a direct role in this campaign and I always ask, 'Please pray for the campaign.'"
Actually, I believe that the spike in the polls came from the prayers of the media. They know a ratings bonanza when they see one. Every time she opens her mouth she says something even more amazing than the time -- Masturbation is adultery, "I am not a witch", there's nothing in the Constitution that says anything about the separation of church and state - that sends them into a frenzy.
When she quotes scripture and says "God will give you the desires of your heart, " you can almost hear the secular journalists hearts go thump, thump, thump.
Maybe some miracle will occur and Christine O'Donnell will beat democrat Chris Coons today, even though he has a huge lead in the polls. She certainly seems to think so.
Maybe when she calls out "God, you gave me this desire....help me here!" God really is listening.
The dilemma is this: If Christine O'Donnell wins, if her prayers and the prayers of others push her over the top, whose prayers are God answering? O'Donnell's or the media's?
I say it's win win.

"Does Christine O'Donnell have a prayer?"
Clearly not. She lost.
I am always amazed at the arrogance of Christianists who mistake their will for God's. ~shrug~

Sounds like she's been reading out of The Secret, not the Bible. Ask Esau if good people in the Bible always get what they want. That only happens in the syrupy (and yet strangely victim-blamey) crap published in inspirational nonsense like The Secret.
