The Young Muslim Americans Project
The Faith and Progressive Policy Initiative of the Center for American Progress is engaged in a multi-year effort to highlight the significance and diversity of young Muslim Americans. As part of that effort, we at CAP produced a video with some emerging leaders from this community. On Faith is highlighting this video as a snapshot of the incredible range of talents and contributions of this growing segment of American society and inviting emerging leaders from this community to comment and expand the conversation.
Young Muslim Americans are a significant and growing demographic in the U.S. The "Young Muslim American Voices Project" at CAP emerged after several months of research and interviews with young Muslim American leaders across the country.
More in-depth interviews are also part of the project such as the one with Edina Lekovic on Muslims and the media , or the one with Mohamad Chakaki on 'being green and Muslim.' These kinds of interviews, as well as other projects, will continue as part of a broader endeavor to improve public understanding and recognition of the variety of ways this diverse group young Muslims are helping to shape the future of American life and culture.
