Iran postures while Egypt burns

As protesters take to the streets across the Muslim world, Western governments watch and wait - hopeful that democratic government may be taking hold, but fearful that such moments can be seized upon by radical Islamic forces who have long sought an opportunity to rise up and impose their will on entire nations.

Radical Islamic movements throughout the world have long been funded and armed by Iran, which the United States has consistently described as "the most active state sponsor of terrorism." Iranian government officials are not only publicly supporting the protests in Egypt; the Islamic Republic is taking credit for them. "The Revolution of the people of Tunisia and Egypt is modeled after Iran's Islamic Revolution," said Iranian Brigadier General Yahya Rahim-Safavi.

Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said, "Popular protests and movements in North African countries, including in Egypt, show necessity of an overhaul in the region and putting an end to dictatorial rules." These Iranians have no problem brutally silencing a popular uprising on their own soil while seeking to capitalize on similar protests from afar. These assertions would be comical if they were not pointing to something so dangerous. Iran's real intentions have nothing to do with democracy, and everything to do with their quest for power on the world stage.

Washington Institute for Near East Policy scholar Mehdi Khalaji observed in 2009 that, "Egypt has long been suspicious of the connection between the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood and Iran, based in large part on Iran's longstanding strong ties to Hamas - an offshoot of the Brotherhood." During the 2008-09 Gaza War, Mr. Khalaji noted that, "Iran was highly vocal in their support of Hamas, blasting the Egyptian government for its inaction."

Should the Iranian regime be allowed to continue in its quests for nuclear power, its ability to further destabilize the region will become even of an issue. Iran is positioning itself as the prime power in the region, and if Iran has nuclear firepower to add credibility to its threats, countries in the throes of unrest -- like Egypt -- will to some degree be kept in fear of what Tehran might do, directly or through organizations like Hamas. (AP Photo/Ben Curtis) (Ben Curtis - AP)

America can not allow this to happen. Should Iran become powerful, it will become both a military and economic threat not only to avowed enemy Israel, but to all nations who align themselves with the idea of real democracy and free-markets. Dictatorial regimes do not stop at the control of the hearts and minds of the people - they also seek to control the flow of wealth. If Iran builds nuclear capabilities, this kind of control is within its grasp.

During his State of the Union address, President Obama stated, "Diplomatic efforts have also strengthened our hand in dealing with those nations that insist on violating international agreements in pursuit of nuclear weapons ... That's why the international community is more united, and the Islamic Republic of Iran is more isolated. And as Iran's leaders continue to ignore their obligations, there should be no doubt, they too, will face growing consequences."

What the world needs now is for America to give Iran a strong sense of those consequences. The instability in Egypt and throughout the region ought to give Congress and the White House a wakeup call, and they should impose tough, more comprehensive sanctions against Iran immediately in an effort to halt its nuclear weapons program.

Iran's intercession in Egypt fuels the uncertainty in the Middle East. A nuclear Iran with this kind of power should be a frightening concept to the rest of the world.

Christian Leaders for a Nuclear-Free Iran pray that the people of Egypt have the opportunity to embrace freedom and democracy rather than be hoodwinked into following a path similar to the Ayatollah's revolution.

There are many Americans who have a Liberal mindset and along with this mindset there is a unrealistic but popular ideology that insists Islam is a religion of peace. There are countless articles, videos and evidence that a country governed by Islamic Sharia Law is guilty of insanely horrific human abuses. The average American can not even fathom this carnage, no, as it goes beyond description and many of these appalling stories are never reported. It not only rivals the horrors of Hitler but has far surpasses the number of tortured and murdered innocents and for over 1,400 years.

The Muslim Brotherhood is an extreme Wahabi Muslim sect that is anti-freedom, anti-semitic, anti-Christian, anti-U.S. Constitution, pro=Sharia Law and Islam is hell bent on world dominanation. They say there can be no other system of government in any country anywhere in the world for all must submit to the will of Allah. Islam has been growing in the U.K., the U.S. and elsewhere in the world at an alarming rate. They prosletyze through fear and intimidation. When they have a large enough number to bolster their religion they begin persecuting ALL non-Muslims with Jizya, an imposed and mafia type tax. Then as their numbers increase more they take away ALL your rights and begin burning down churches and murdering innocent Christians. I have an acquaintance who is a Coptic Christian in Egypt, I have seen the Garbage People of Cairo, namely the Christians who are MADE to dwell in an area of the city whre garbage is piled. We can not help the Muslim brotherhood gain power. We ALL must fight the disease called Islam inside our own borders and also help those who are the victims of this most dreaded medieval system of tyranny.

Deputies: Fla. man stabbed because he was Muslim

The Associated Press
Sunday, February 6, 2011; 2:08 PM

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Authorities say a Florida man is accused of stabbing another man in the neck after learning he was Muslim during a discussion about religion.

According to an arrest affidavit, the man who was stabbed told 52-year-old Bradley Kent Strott that he was Muslim while the two talked on Saturday. Investigators say Strott then grabbed the man by his shirt and stabbed him with a pocket knife.

The man who was stabbed was treated for his wound, though details about his condition were not available.

Strott was charged with aggravated battery. He was released Saturday evening on $15,000 bond.

Iran has an amazing way of spinning stories to their advantage - a skill they probably perfected through practice within their own regime. The protests in Egypt seem to deal more with democracy than Islam, however, not according to Iran. Iran is commemorating the Egyptian people for their efforts, while at the same time suppressing the cries for freedom from their own people. The Green Movement in Iran reached a high in 2009 after the illiberal presidential elections. Iran harshly suppressed the manifestations and protests of its people who called for democracy and relief from an oppressive government - very much like what Egypt is fighting for. Iran is trying to establish itself as a world power by attempting to influence the decisions in Egypt. The article goes on to delve into the topic of nuclear power - something that will certainly make Iran a force to be reckoned with. Iran needs to focus on its own issues and look at what is occurring in Egypt as a possible situation for Iran's future.

The author of this perverse piece is quick to spot the inconsistency in Iran's support for the unfolding Egyptian revolution, having only recently crushed their own people's Green revolution - but is totally oblivious to America's historical and ongoing support for oppressive governments in the region. Shortly before the headquarters of the Egyptian ruling party was engulfed in flames, Mrs. Clinton had wishfully described the regime of one of America's most trusted regional allies, as stable! America's PR machine has been playing catch up since. However, the sad truth remains: the Egyptian government's security thugs, whose brutality against demonstrators and international journalists we've all been witnessing, have alas been partly funded by US tax-payers' dollars. Even worse, America's substantial annual aid package to Mubarak's cruel, dictatorial regime has not been suspended. Amazingly, it is fair to conclude, borrowing Jordan Sekulow's own words, that:

America's real intentions have nothing to do with democracy, and everything to do with their quest for power on the world stage!

The Revolution in Egypt has been planned and orchestrated by the Muslim Brotherhood who had an extremly violent history ( refer to their History).
President Obama and the US should support President Mubarak to complete his last six month in order to make sure that the Muslims brotherhood dont hijack Egypt and unite with the rest Iran allies in the middle East .
Mubarak will be the best person to acheive that for the sake of Egypt , the Christian in Egypt , the moderate muslims , USA interest in the region .
The sudden downfall of Mubarak will be presenting Egypt to the Muslims brothehood on a silver plater and a disaster for everyone .

A dictatorship serves its dictator well.. but what of the will and needs of the people of a given nation who must live in and under the dictatorship ? Who is ultimately serving their needs, human rights, and lives ? A non-responsive dictatorship government ?
A revolutionary response is not surprising.
Does one have to be considered an idealist to believe that all people, irregardless of nation, deserve the freedom of religion expression. When Americans speak of democracy why is there immediate disdain in response.
The pain of the Egyptian people does not really end in Egypt. Other nations, other people are affected.. directly or indirectly. Israel is one such nation. God has a vested interest in Israel that cannot be denied. Is this yet another reality of the signs of the times in which we live.
What is the proper response to such intense turmoil, to offer no hope in response to political upheaval and unrest ? The people of Egypt deserve hope, rights, dignity, and religious freedom, just as all people should. Without such precious freedom what is the human race, an endless chain of robots, I sincerely hope not. Putting such limitations on human beings binds them up in spiritual chains. Is it not up to God to make judgements on these matters. When I think of Egypt, I think of how Joseph, Mary and the child Jesus sought safe passage and refuge in Egypt. How they were protected from the intended death of Jesus by King Herod. This was God's will which prevailed. Typically hostility and disdain are bleeding through some of the political comments in these articles. Confusion and chaos do not reign with God. Human beings should aid, pray for, assist and defend one another whenever possible, but the final outcome~ the will of God will be the final word; His will shall ultimately prevail.

What a racist comment by an ignorant red neck. Your religion of Christianity has been on a killing spree since 14th century promoting colonialism, slavery and ethnic cleansing which has killed over a billion human beings. All other religions in the world combined including Islam have not killed as much people as Christiandom has killed over the past 6 centuries. There are no Islamic armies killing children and bombing wedding parties in Christian lands but vice versa is true. Hitler was a christian as was was Bush and Blair. Before spewing your racist venom go and read your bloody history of killings and stealing of other people on planet earth. Some one has gotta stop you fascists.

I guess I never realized that so many posts are made by people that just do not care to find out the truth - with the internet its pretty easy to find out about a countrys culture - origin - faith - and even what Faith and God mean to people. Instead I see condemnation and false writings so prop up what they are told to believe by radical extremists. Take the time to find out the truth about America - its people and its beliefs. No other country in the world has done more for others and for that we receive the most condemnation and insults and death threats - for what - brlieving in democracy - freedom - and helping our fellow men, women and children - not to just survive but to live free. My God does not wish war on any people - we have no radical Christians that want to kill and rampage death - in the name of God - But the Muslim faith has those sects - we don't. Somtimes it is wise to actually look and research our fellow man to see who they are - I hope many people will take that time and insure the facts - of all - then see who you might want to be friends with.

ALL this 'posturing' is an Insult to the EKLAHTARIAN-FAITH a.k.a the APOCALYPTARiAN "HOlyi COsmic FEelers FAith!"!

All this "Double/Triple Standards Psychosis" & "Religious Jealousy Psychosis" is so, Soo PreApocalyptic!

To Borrow, reluctantly, the analogy from the King Solomon's psalm/song/Poetry, then "CUT THE [ISHLAMi] Baby in HALF!" fits this whole scenario.

Me point is; WHY Does The [Ishlami] Nation blame "iSRAEL" for Islam's Problems that Israel never Caused?

What Did Israel Ever Do to SECULAR (Shah) PERSIANs and now to PreApocalyptic (Cleric) IRAN? Sounds like it was the Israeli's and not the IQAQi's who killed 1,000,000 + during the SHIA vs. SUNNi WAR via Saddam Hussein's BAATH party etc..

DID Not Mr. "MUHAMMAD" of the Koreshi Tribe DIE BY POISON LAMB?

Do Muslims Know Why the MAN (not GOD) who they call a 'prophet', why he Died an agonizing death (if the Story is True) Lamb Poisoning (Not PIG)?

Hint: Because it was revenge killing via a "JEWISH" Princess whom's Husband & Wealth & Tribe/Family etc.. Mr. Muhammad Killed/Murdered and or diaspora'd! Then [Scared] Her to Convert! That's Why!

Note: Ironically, The Same Year Mr. Muhammad Died 632 AD/CE was the Same year the Ex-Pagan's turned Ishlami//ESAi's, aka Muhammadan's INVADED (came up North; Uninvited) GAZA. Not The Other way Around. RIGHT? RIGHT! So even after 1,400 Years that the

Reality. It was Not the Israeli's (Nor AMERICA) who INVADED PERSIA 636 AD/CE and Holocaust's [ZOROASTRIANS; who had a real MONO-THEO faith] them by the Million; Yet did a good job of Hiding it from Them. Even Today. Pleazzza!

IT was Not The Israeli's (nor Americans) who Invaded and converted many Christian-Coptic & Pagan ORSIRISian AEGYPTians 700's AD/CE.

DO & THEN DENY! DENY & or THEN DO! then Blame blame blame, games games games. Use Sticks and throw STONES. Madness! Madness! It's the Madnesss! I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE! [pbu Citizen Cain}. Oye...!

BEHOLD: WE [i] art APOCALYPTARI-ON(s) & i [WE] NEVER DIE! Only PREAPOCALYPTARi-OFF's DIE! And "ALLAH" (not G_D) will never Help You!

Praise The Holy NO-MAN/WOM! "In "IT" WE TRUST (Not The Almighty Dollar)! Something To Live For, NOt to Die For anymore!

They Act like WE [KAFIRs] stole their Ideas, i.e. 1st to SPLIT THE ATOM! 1st TO STEP ON THE MOON! 1st TO MAKE Penicillin! 1st Chosen PEOPLE ON EARTH, the Interenet lalala. Now They Are Using OUR (not Their Intelligence) against US?? blame-blame, distract distract, conspire, conspire!!

This PREEMPTIVE REVOLUTION in Egypt will not become legitemate unless Army that we have built move out of the streets and Mubarak is hung with his Entourage all together.

We need Egypt Sunni population to stand up to Iran. We can't afford to let Egypt to have her own Revolution without us in control of the outcome, hence the PREEMPTIVE REVOLUTION . Poor Egyptians still have long way to go to taste real freedom on their own.

Even at this stage of this event we are not on the side of the people of Egypt and we are giving room and voice to what the Saudis are saying, which is "the Muslim Brootherhood is an agent of a foreign power and are planted this revolt by help and assistance of Iranian"!! The truth is that Iran is winning and is winning very big. All pro-American regimes in middle east have become shaky while all anti-American imperialism are getting stronger. Look at Syria and Lebanon. The 2009 CIA operation to bring down Iran's government by engineering a color revolution started all this collateral damage. All international and western polls of 2009 Iranian election had shown scientifically that Ahmadinejad would win the election but this did not stop CIA from supporting a small minority. Now Iran is taking advantage of a majority in middle east opposed to US and Israel and basically taking revenge. According to latest polls conducted by western polling agencies before this uprising in Egypt had shown that majority of Egyptians want to have an Islamic governance system and oppose US policies. Any one with a gram of grey matter can see that Iran the country that has the world's fastest growth rate in science and technology is winning. GW Bush destroyed the American supremacy. Condoleeza Rice was right when she spoke of birth pangs of a new middle east but little we knew then that those pangs were Iranian children being born in Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, Turkey etc. A simple open minded search on google and youtube about super power status of Iran can be eye opening. The usual media rhetoric of disregarding and humiliating Iran has not worked in the past 3 decades and will not work now. The truth is that Iran is much more sophisticated than given credit for. After all defeating the world's lone super power in straight rows takes more than luck and good humor.

There was no "popular uprising" in 2009. There were protests from a minority of the electorate over a disputed election that turned out to be not fraudulent at all:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/ismael-hosseinzadeh/irans-presidential-electi_b_612955.html

Some of those protests turned violent. But there was never any "uprising" to speak of.

The rest of Sekulow's article continues in the same vein of demonizing the Islamic Republic, and in the ill-disguised vein that democracy is good only when coupled with "free markets" and no Islamicity. Well, you can't have your cake and eat it too.

Looking for some formula for "democracy" that makes sure the people's aspirations are not achieved is an oxymoronic exercise, but that will not stop people like Jordan Sekulow from trying.

At least the Israelis are more honest: According to Ray Hanania, an Israeli journalist,

"Peace with Israel under its present terms can only be enforced by a dictator like Mubarak. Democracy will give the people a voice and their voice clearly demands that the peace accord be broken"

It's sad to see such an anti-Muslim diatribe in a segment entitled, "On Faith".
