SBC urges action against BP in gulf oil spill

The Southern Baptist Convention, never shy about expressing its disappointment with what it considers corporate (Disney) or political (Clinton) sinners, adopted a surprisingly strongly worded resolution Wednesday expressing its collective dismay about the gulf oil spill.

"God has designed us with a dependence on the natural resources around us and has assigned us a dominion of stewardship and protection of those resources for future generations," stated the resolution adopted by messengers to the 2010 Southern Baptist Convention meeting in Orlando. "Our God-given dominion over the creation is not unlimited, as though we were gods and not creatures, so therefore, all persons and all industries are then accountable to higher standards than to profit alone."

The resolution called on the government "to act determinatively and with undeterred resolve to end this crisis; to fortify our coastal defenses; to ensure full corporate accountability for damages, clean-up and restoration; to ensure that government and private industry are not again caught without planning for such possibilities; and to promote future energy policies based on prudence, conservation, accountability, and safety."

It also encouraged individuals, communities, industries and government "to work together to find ways to lessen the potentiality of such tragic accidents and of such devastating pollution in order that we may protect what God loves and safeguard the lives, livelihoods, health and well-being of our neighbors and of future generations."

The oil spill is a religious issue and a moral issue because God's blessings are promised to those who follow His word and love and respect Him. He promises to send "terror" and 4 x 7 curses UNTIL we turn to Him in truth. We are seeing a “terror.” Leviticus 26

God gave us the Ten Commandments and they are not honored or lived in our nation. God cannot lie; He doesn't want disasters, but if we refuse His word, we belong to the devil and his rewards are not good. We need to turn to God in truth AS WRITTEN. It is time to correct our religion and restore God’s written word.

Jesus said, Seek first the kingdom of God & His righteousness.
Tell President Obama you want the Ten Commandments of Exodus 20, as written in full lifted up as the standard of our nation

Tell President Obama you will not work, buy or sell on God’s commanded 7th day Sabbath of no work.

All professed "People of God" need to prepare to take people into their homes NOW, before the storms destroy their water supply and air beyond the current damage. "Charity covers a multitude of sins."
