In recent years, Mother Teresa's writings on doubt have gained particular attention. Below are some of her best-known quotes, taken from her private writings and public sayings:

On darkness:

"If I ever become a Saint -I will surely be one of 'darkness.' I will continually be absent from Heaven -to light the light of those in darkness on earth."
"For the first time in this 11 years -I have come to love the darkness, for I believe now that it is a part of a very, very small part of Jesus' darkness and pain on earth."

On small acts of love:

"Yes my dear children, be faithful in little practices of love, of little sacrifices --of the little interior mortification --of little fidelities to Rule, which will build in you the life of holiness -make you Christ-like."
"Don't look for big things, just do small things with great love. . . . The smaller the thing, the greater must be our love."

On abortion:

"The greatest destroyer of love and peace is abortion, which is war against the child. The mother doesn't learn to love, but kills to solve her own problems. Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love, but to use any violence to get what they want."

On 'Anyway,' a spiritual writing credited to Mother Teresa, although she may not have been the original author:

"Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway."
In the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway."

Do you have a favorite quote from Mother Teresa? Or a favorite saying from another spiritual teacher?

One of the biggest contributors to MT was Charles Keating who gave her millions in money stolen from the poor that she refused to return. When asked about her friendship with Princess Diana and her divorce, MT said it was for the best, millions must have exchanged hands for that blessing. MT afterward campaigned in Ireland against the referendum to lift the constitutional ban on divorce, she speaks with a forked tongue. The over populated poor of Calcutta are swarming in misery since she refused them knowledge about contraception. The tremendous assets of MT could have helped millions escape poverty but she never shared a dime.
