Rep. Keith Ellison weeps at hearing on Muslim American communities
By Elizabeth Tenety
Congressman Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) broke down during his remarks at Congressman King's (R-N.Y.) hearings on radicalization in the American Muslim community.
Ellison was talking about Mohammad Salman Hamdani, the American Muslim firefighter who died on 9/11. Because Hamdani, Ellison said, was a Muslim, he was the subject of conspiracy theories for months after his death. A NYTimes editorial later clarified: "Mr. Hamdani's remains had been found near the north tower, and he had gone there to help people he did not know."

As predicted, the fascists have arrived in America, wrapped in the flag and carrying a bible. They must be stopped by all means necessary.

Crying like Hillary, fake a Obama. I find it funny that Islamic Jihad attacks for February 2011 were;
Jihad Attacks: 134
Countries: 20
Religions: 5
Dead Bodies: 565
Critically Injured: 1058
And yes we "shouldn't be discussing Radicalization.
Maybe if Ellison spent less time crying and more time speaking out AGAINST Islamic Murder he would be more repected.
But, coming from Al Franken and Jesse Ventura land, I'm not surprised.

Every day in every way the neocons within our government and controlling international corporations dba the Republican Party are becoming more and more of a threat to our freedom.
Neoconservatism, an euphemistic term for government by a fascist oligarchy, is the antithesis of democracy - they seek to rule by fiat, not govern. The goals and methods of obtaining them exhibited by Gov. Walker are a good example.

A study last month from Triangle Center on Terrorism and Homeland Security revealed, 48 of 120 Muslims suspected of plotting terror attacks in the US since 9/11 were turned in by fellow Muslims. Only 11 were successful in executing attacks, killing 33 victims - avg 3 deaths per year! Meanwhile in 2010, including Jared Loughner's shooting at Rep Giffords event in AZ, 10 "American terrorists" shot & killed 49 Americans and wounded scores more.
And yesterday the FBI arrested a member of the RW radical neo-Nazi National Alliance in connection with the attempted MLK Day attempted bombing in Spokane, WA. The suspect is a veteran, who served from 1967-97 and was stationed at Fort Lewis, one of several US military installations with a concentration of secret extremist members.
Since SPLC reports that 2010 saw "an explosion" in the growth of hate groups, including 600 new anti-government "Patriot" militia & "nativist extremist" groups, attacks on IRS, use of grenades ...perhaps King should be investigating the growth of domestic RW radical christian terrorists instead of exposing a fantasy?

fascism fasc"ism (f[a^]sh"[i^]z'm) n.
1. a political theory advocating an authoritarian
hierarchical government; -- opposed to democracy and
liberalism.
[WordNet 1.5]
2. an authoritarian system of government under absolute
control of a single dictator, allowing no political
opposition, forcibly suppressing dissent, and rigidly
controlling most industrial and economic activities. Such
regimes usually try to achieve popularity by a strongly
nationalistic appeal, often mixed with racism.
[PJC]
How exactly does fascism describe the Tea Party movement? From Wikipedia on Libertarianism, "Libertarianism includes diverse beliefs and organizations; all advocate either the minimization or the elimination of the state, and the goal of maximizing individual liberty and freedom."
If you replaced "dictator" and "authoritarian government" with "corporations" you'd have a better picture of where the United States currently stands. The fact that citizens don't vote and can't even define fascism doesn't help either.
The worthless comments on this article reflect the kind of ignorance exhibited by the German citizens who believed the propaganda of the National Socialists, and we all know where that went. Good job morons.

Naturally, anyone with a heart is going to show compassion for our Muslim brothers and sisters. The tragedy of 9/11 deserves more compassion for victims and survivors.
We are now in the 14th Season of Non Violence, commemorating the peaceful works of Ghandi and Dr. Martin Luther King.

Many Muslims are thankful for the hearings, they view it as working together with Homeland Security.
Hearings have been held in the past, with other specific groups-- without the protests.
One wise gentleman at the hearing asked a very pointed question:
Why is there so much Fear to talk about, discuss terrorism?
Denial is not a solution. Many naive people think you can sweep problems under the rug; that doesn't make them go away;
it only makes it Worse.

The reason for this hearing and one that takes priority over any hurt feelings or tears:
What instigated the attack on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon? And what continues to drive Muslims to commit global acts of terror and horror? The koran, Mohammed's book of death for all infidels and Muslim domination of the world by any means. Muslims must clean up this book removing said passages admitting that they are based on the Gabriel myth and therefore obviously the hallucinations and/or lies of Mohammed. Then we can talk about the safety and location of mosques and what is taught therein. Until then, no male Muslim can be trusted anytime or anywhere.–
(Dr. Jasser, one of the witnesses at the hearing, definitely is aware of the situation within Islam. One hopes he is successful in his attempts to modernize Islam.)

Even as the group killed thosands of innocent civilans, for more than 30 years, Peter King has been one of the most aggressive, pro-IRA sympathizers in the United States. How ironic that he chooses to single out an extremist faction of one religion while ignoring the atrocities of all those on the State Department Watch List.

@kevinfishburne: Many in the tea party think they are libertarians in favor of freedom and liberty, but unwittingly, the policies they advocate only strengthen the corporate oligarchy controlling the US (as you note). The tea party smacks of fascism because of its strong bias against Barrack Obama's "foreigness" (please see Mike Huckabee, Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, et al), hence its racially-biased white nationalism scares the pants off of me and most Democrats (or NPR execs) who correctly see the tea party as a proto-fascist movement.

Islam is just a religion. Radical Islam is a threat to every man, woman and child in this country. Instead of hiding behind your PC blinders, why don't you confront the problem? Stop being afraid to offend someone - your life or the life of your child may depend on you confronting evil.
Can you not read the world-wide body count for February in the name of jihad? Why do you stand there with limp wrists, protecting these savages, and attacking your own leaders? What is wrong with you?

Was it a show for the media?
Ellison cried about the great American Muslim Fireman that did his job saving others. OK - I get it. This man did the right thing.
What about the thousand of innocent others, both Muslims and Infidels, who have died at the hands of Islamic Jihadist. I would think he has a lot more crying to do, unless this was all show for the media.
By the way, it has nothing to do with trying to determine what is making otherwise good Muslims become Religious murders.

It is AMAZING, that people are getting all riled up over this sound investigation. What more evidence does the American public want? Muslim-Islamists are killing each other all over the world, they are maiming, slaughtering, killing themselves, their children, their women, parents, brothers, sisters, uncles and aunts in the "name of Islam". Do Muslim have the control of their own? NO. Do Muslims here mount a brigade against terrorism here or Anywhere?.NO. They remain "silent". Where is their condemnation!, Where is their Outrage! Where was the Muslim council on major Akbar when he slaughtered 13 of his comrades, and wounded many others?? Where was it? Why would you wonder that the US might start investigating: what in the world is going on? Take a good look at yourselves, your faith, your respect for this: the Greatest Country in the World. THE USA. It is up to you, to clean out this radicalism. It is up to you to build a front against this enemy of your freedom.
Or would you all rather have Sharia Law, vs. Our US Constitution and our Bill of Rights?? You, the Muslim community, have to start cleaning it up, or the american people will. If you don't like inquisitions, then please start your own, and get it right. As the rights of US Citizens.

Peter King is an ugly faced racist. Too many lies over the course of his life issued from his frontal-lobes in his brain and then to hide them has put those ugly features on his face. Bush crime family and Cheney and NEOCON ZIONISTS have the same although Bush had to get the subtle BOTOX job.
911 , ANTHRAX , OKLAHOMA is an INSIDE CIA-FBI-MOSSAD job.
American Media and OFFICIALS makes white lies - as proven on its stance on double murderer Raymond Davis - CIA operative caught RED HANDED in Pakistan for recruiting terrorists and planning to give them NUCLEAR material as reported by EUROPEAN TIMES and Russian Intelligence.
Almost everyone with high IQ knows that 911 is inside job.

There is simple and easy solution:
The saving of 1.5 billion lost Muslim souls:
There never was and never will be any angels i.e. no Gabriel, no Islam
The saving of 2 billion lost Christian souls:
There was and never will be any bodily resurrections i.e. No Easter, no Christianity
Simplifying the saving of 15.5 million Orthodox followers of Judaism:
Abraham and Moses never existed.
Added details upon request.

If folks don't think this is all about the elections in 2012, they haven't thought it through. We should remember Newt Gingrich leading the impeachment charge against Clinton that ultimately resulted in 8 years of Bushco. Odd to say, King was one of the few republicans that sat that one out.
An early supporter of fellow Catholic IRA forces in Northern Ireland, he now declares that he has seen the light, and will fight terrorism wherever he finds it.
Home-grown terrorism and the build up of white nativist militia forces is getting a pass, while the local Muslim population (whom he was once much closer to) are the focus of his present ire.
King is alleged to be considering a run for the U.S. Senate. I suppose the hope is that this will play well for all republicans in 2012. They have no other ideas, so maybe this one will fly. No one likes terrorists, and many find the subtrefuge of the GOP pretty disgusting as well.
The Tea Partiers and assorted idiot birthers have been relentless with felonious claims of Obama's 'Muslim' heritage. All in all, King's present strategy ties in nicely with this total crock of crap while Senate republicans remain mostly silent on the issue.
The general populace never knows when it's been had....and this time it's no different.

"Because Hamdani, Ellison said, was a Muslim, he was the subject of conspiracy theories for months after his death."
Throughout all of his thoroughly unconvincing "emotional breakdown" over a man he never met or gave one thought to prior to these hearings, and who undoubtedly did do the right thing on September 11, 2001, Ellison fails to mention that after an initial investigation by the FBI, Hamdani was cleared of any involvement in the attacks, and singled out by the Bush administration and new NYC mayor Bloomberg as an example of how muslim American patriots responded to the disaster.

'Allah is Satan.'
Allah is the God of Abraham....not a wit of difference. On this, virtually all religious historians, bible scholars, and sundry experts on religion agree.
Leave it to the befuddled Christian fundamentalists to disagree.
Satan has approximately the same meaning and etiology - although the Jinn, as yet another order of beings, are also the cause of much human consternation and confusion.
Common mythologies, with local interpretations........the human imagination is a remarkable force in the universe (at least the human universe).

While Rep. Ellison's testimony was moving, it does not seem relevant to the hearing, whose concern was with the radicalization of young people in America. Many people, Christians, Muslims, Jews, Hindus, etc., acted heroically on 9/11. I think of one Jew who would not leave behind his disabled Catholic colleague, and attempted to wheel him down the stairs. Both of them died.
The hearings, regardless of what one may think of them, did not have as their goal the demonizing of Muslims. Peter King has always had the support of Muslims in his district, and he still retains some of it.
The case of Carlos Bledsoe, whose father Melvin also testified does have relevance. Not only did it involve radicalization, but it also involved the FBI's dropping the ball. Not the first time, and clearly relevant to King's goals. I did not, at first, see the point of these hearings. This testimony has made me reconsider.

You wrote, "Allah is the God of Abraham....not a wit of difference. On this, virtually all religious historians, bible scholars, and sundry experts on religion agree."
"Allah" is a generic Arabic, I believe, word that simply means God.
As far as you saying that the god of the koran and the God of the bible being the same and that "virtually all religious historians, bible scholars, and sundry experts on religion agree".
Would you say that the vast majority of "Christians" believe that God is a Trinity?
Unless I have heard wrong, the god of islam gets totally perturbed if anyone says that God is a Trinity, is this not so?
Isn't it also believed by the vast majority of "Christians" that Jesus is God-Incarnate?
Have you or have you not heard that the god of islam vehemently denies this?
Any comments?
Take care, be ready.
Sincerely, Thomas Paul Moses Baum.
