Fahim Mirza:

I believe Musharif is sincere in returning country to civilian rule. He has been more democratic then any political leader. If he stays next 5 years as civilian president to guide and check the political government, I think the country may be ready for lasting democracy. We must remember that the events had forced army intervention in politics and even generals the politics corrupts even their institution and therefore, they should get out as soon as possible. We need to focus on new potential political leaders and making sure they are well informed, educated and well supported in order to provide clean exit strategy for the army. Focusing on removing army alone will not do any good.

mohammad allam:

Now time is to move fast otherwise both pakistan army and pakistan will crumble mr musharaf.

Muhammad Khan:

Mr. Kuttab says Generals only see things from a security perspective, I'll just echo his sound and say in case of Pakistan Generals only see things in their security and in their intrest, they don't have nothing to do with peoples. A General never taught how to run a government then how you are expecting he'll run the country. They supposed to be on the borders or in the barracks. That is not a job they should mess with it.

Brandon:

You are like the John Madden of politics...telling us what we all ready know...Im glad that you can ID the problem however the problem is much more complex, which is why the solution that is given deals with one small part of the problem and is in no way in the best interest of Americans or our troops. I think that we have done more than enough in the intrest of Arab nations and American should start being more concerend about what is going on with itself and less about the Arab world who mind you does not care about us.

Baby Boomer :

Mr. Kuttab and Post Global: Whatever happened to Daoud Kuttab's 'What about us Arabs' started on September 11 or 12 and gone from all archives or whatever?

American Observer:

What a wonderful set of proposals. Now, how exactly can you get 'all groups and parties' to agree to a schedule or a government or to anything else? I think everyone one in Pakistan and everyone in the world would love to know. Then, when you have achieved your schedule and your government, can you do the same thing for Gaza?
